PLO Rules Out Joint Delegation With Jordan
A top official of the Palestine Liberation Organization on Friday ruled out any prospects of a joint delegation with Jordan at any international Middle East peace conference.
All parties to the Arab-Israeli conflict, including the PLO, must attend any talks on an equal footing, Farouk Khaddoumi, PLO foreign minister, told a news conference.
On Wednesday, an aide to Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres indicated that Israel would set aside objections to negotiating with the PLO provided it met certain conditions and was part of a joint negotiating team with Jordan. Khaddoumi ruled that out.
