What’s Happened to the Real Raiders?

Share

Where’s Jim Plunkett? He wasn’t spectacular, but he seldom gave them away. Where’s Lester Hayes? Sure, he’d get beat like everybody else, but they knew they were going against him. These guys were Raiders .

Something has to be done to light some fuses. Howie Long used to be the most feared lineman in the league; double- and triple-teaming turned him into an animal. Now any two bozos can take him right out of a game.

Tom Flores has two of the most talented running backs ever, maybe the best trio of wide receivers the Raiders have ever had (that includes Dokie Williams, not Jessie (Oh, do I have to catch it, too?) Hester.) It’s time to trade Flores in on a more contemporary model.

Hey, Mr. Davis, where’s the attitude? Black shirts and eye patches were worth a touchdown in the old days. They’re laughing in Indianapolis, now. This isn’t the Rams we’re talking about here. You guys are too talented to be this bad. You’re supposed to win, remember?
