Among the new shows this year, my favorite is “Frank’s Place.” I am so impressed with the writing, which is delicately brought to life by the cast. The characters already seem comfortable, as if they had been developing for years. With no laugh track, each line is treasured as a morsel of wit spiced with tenderness, Creole style. For anyone who appreciated the characters who were tied so closely together by affection, humor and tenderness in “WKRP in Cincinnati” (also created by Hugh Wilson), this may be the new show for you too!
