Local News in Brief : Rock Hudson Estate Sued

Share

A Los Angeles judge refused Tuesday to dismiss a lawsuit in which the former lover of Rock Hudson seeks $11 million to pay his medical expenses in case he develops AIDS.

Marc Christian said he had sexual contact with the actor during a time that Hudson could have transmitted the disease to him. Hudson died of complications from AIDS in October, 1985.

Attorneys for Hudson’s estate contended that there is no evidence that Christian has AIDS or will develop it in the future. But Christian’s lawyer, Marvin Mitchelson, argued that research on AIDS has not established a cutoff time for developing the disease after exposure.

Mitchelson said he expects the case to go to trial next year, possibly in the fall.

Hudson’s estate has filed a $2.07-million countersuit, claiming that Christian blackmailed Hudson, sold sex for money and stole $60,000 worth of the actor’s possessions. Christian has denied the allegations.
