Jim Bakker’s former bodyguard testified for the second day in Charlotte, N.C., before a federal grand jury investigating the former PTL leader and his top aides. Don Hardister, who has worked for eight years as Bakker’s personal bodyguard, said of the testimony: “It’s tough. These people were my friends at one time. I have talked about the general things--basically, the life styles of the rich and famous.” The 23-member federal grand jury is investigating the financial dealings of Bakker and his top aides, with investigators looking into the possibility of wire, tax and mail fraud.
