Director David Cronenberg has pumped new life into his “Twins.” Money-troubled De Laurentiis Ent. pulled the plug in June just days before photography was to begin--and after $500,000 in set construction. So “we put a new deal together piece by piece,” said producer Joe Roth.
Based on a best-seller about real-life (and strange) NYC twin gynecologists in love with the same actress, “Twins” will star Jeremy Irons twice, with the female lead yet to be cast, he said.
