- If you received a gold flyer in the mail with your 1988 property tax bill, you can make a contribution to the arts in San Diego when you return your bill. Residents can either check off one of the cultural organizations listed on the flyer or write in their own and submit their tax-deductible contribution with payment of their tax bill.

Established in 1981 by the County Board of Supervisors, the “Choose to Cultivate Culture” program has raised more than $140,000 for such institutions as the San Diego Museum of Art and the Natural History Museum.

Beginning this year, the Public Arts Advisory Council, the county’s official arts agency, will be listed as a possible recipient of “Choose to Cultivate Culture” funds.
