The final statistics are in from the 1987 Los Angeles Festival. The September event--which sold 140,000 tickets--ended up in the black, with a $155,000 surplus. Festival director Robert Fitzpatrick had initially projected a $200,000 surplus--”that was our best-case scenario.” He noted that the decline of the American dollar “cost us $25,000-$30,0000” in profits.
