Adult day health care centers provide the frail elderly with comprehensive medical treatment without requiring overnight care. Such day health centers can prevent or delay institutionalization. These programs are licensed by the California State Department of Health Services and are allowed to bill for services under MediCal. Age ranges vary.

Also licensed to administer prescribed medication. The center, affiliated with the Feedback Foundation and co-sponsored by St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, has a full-time nurse and social worker and a psychiatrist on call.

These adult day care centers offer supervised social and educational activities, rehabilitation services, family counseling and moderate health care services for elderly and frail persons unable to participate in regular senior citizen activities.
