Two Lotto Contestants to Split $7.8 Million

Two players split a $7.8-million jackpot in the latest Lotto 6/49 game, California Lottery spokesman John Schade said Sunday.

The tickets, each worth $3.9 million for having all six numbers correct, were purchased at the Pinole Food Center in Pinole and at Cal Info in the Puente Hills Mall, City of Industry.

In addition, six tickets were winners in the five-of-six plus bonus number category and were worth $203,338 apiece, Schade said.

There were 252 five-of-six winners who will each win $2,494, and another 14,180 people won $40 each for getting four numbers correct.

Sales for the week were $11.4 million. The jackpot for the next Lotto game, which ends Wednesday night, was expected to be $3 million.
