Galici Retains Title With KO Over Batista

ORISTANO, Sardinia —
Efisio Galici of Italy defended his World Boxing Council junior welterweight title Saturday night, knocking out Dominican Edoardo Batista in 1:30 of the second round.
Galici defeated the challenger with a powerful right hook after a flurry of punches.
Galici said afterwards that he wants to meet WBC welterweight champion Jorge Vaca of Mexico.
