Connie Stevens will portray Thalia Menninger--a role originally played by Tuesday Weld--in Disney’s coming TV movie “Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis.” Dwayne Hickman, Bob Denver and Sheilah James, stars of the classic 1959-63 TV series “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis,” have announced their planned return. Thalia, trivia buffs might remember, was the Central High School beauty with whom Dobie was madly in love.

CBS is set to air 20th Century Fox Television’s movie “Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis” (not from Walt Disney Productions, as recently reported) on Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. The movie will mark the first time that actors Dwayne Hickman (Dobie Gillis), Bob Denver (Maynard G. Krebs) and Sheila James (Zelda Gilroy) have been reunited since 1977, when CBS aired the pilot episode of a proposed revival series, “Whatever Happened to Dobie Gillis?” The original series, “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis,” aired from 1959 to 1963. In the upcoming movie, Connie Stevens replaces Tuesday Weld as Thalia Menninger.
