Cunliffe Agrees to Resign
The Los Angeles City Council and General Services Department head Sylvia Cunliffe agreed today that she will resign her post immediately over allegations of favoritism, nepotism and mismanagement.
Without addressing 20 charges leveled against Cunliffe by Mayor Tom Bradley, the council voted 8 to 4 to accept a 10-point compromise deal allowing her to resign rather than be fired. In return, Cunliffe will drop various legal actions against the council. The agreement is subject to Bradley’s approval.
