Blazers Take Murphy Off Suspended List
The Portland Trail Blazers have removed first-round draft pick Ronnie Murphy from the suspended list, and the former Jacksonville University player is accompanying the NBA team on its four-game road trip this week.
The club suspended the guard without pay on Nov. 13 for failing to comply with a diet and rehabilitation program.
Trail Blazer coaches have been upset with Murphy since he arrived in fall camp out of shape.
Murphy has not played a game this season. He had been on the disabled list because of a stress reaction in his foot before he was suspended.
In mid-November, Blazer coaches told Murphy he no longer could sit with the team at its home games. He was removed from the suspended list on Sunday.
