Local News in Brief : No Beausoleil Parole

Share

Charles Manson follower Robert Beausoleil was denied parole again Wednesday by a state panel at the California Men’s Colony at San Luis Obispo.

Beausoleil, 39, is serving a life sentence for the July 27, 1969, slaying of musician Gary Hinman in the victim’s Topanga Canyon home.

Board of Prison Terms officers who reviewed his case said they denied parole because of the nature of the crime and Beausoleil’s history. They said the case will be reviewed again in one year.

Beausoleil was denied parole in past years for similar reasons, the last time was Dec. 2, 1986.

The decision by the three-member panel was not unanimous, said Bob Patterson, executive officer of the board. Only two members found that Beausoleil was unsuitable for parole, he said.
