Bolin Named President of Kemper Division

John R. Bolin, chairman, chief executive and president of Los Angeles-based Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards Inc., has been named president and chief executive of the broker-dealer division of Kemper Financial Cos.the holding company for Kemper Corp.’s asset-management and broker-dealer subsidiaries.

Bolin also will be an executive vice president and a member of the executive committee of the holding company, which is headquartered in Long Grove, Ill.

He will assume his new responsibilities immediately and will retain his position at Bateman Eichler, a subsidiary of Kemper Financial, until a successor is named.

Kemper Financial Cos. is 89% owned by Kemper Corp. on a fully converted basis, with the remainder owned by employees of its various subsidiaries.

In addition to Bateman Eichler, Kemper Financial’s regional securities brokerage firms include Blunt Ellis & Loewi Inc., based in Milwaukee and Chicago; Boettcher & Co., based in Denver; Prescott, Ball & Turben Inc., based in Cleveland, with substantial operations in New York, and Gulfstream Financial Associates Inc., a broker-dealer with headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla.

Another Kemper broker-dealer, Lovett Mitchell Webb & Garrision Inc., based in Houston, was recently merged into Boettcher.
