NEW YORK — The estate of the late pop artist Andy Warhol filed a malpractice and wrongful death suit Thursday seeking an unspecified amount of money from New York Hospital and 11 doctors and nurses.
Edward Hayes, lawyer for the estate, said Warhol died Feb. 22 at New York Hospital because he “drowned” after too much fluid was put into his body. Warhol, 58, entered the hospital Feb. 20 for a routine operation to remove gallstones and repair a ventral hernia.
