Designer Babies

The designer babies don’t sound like geniuses to me, they sound like undisciplined brats. I am the mother of seven children, all but one of whom walked well before one year and talked well before two. Someone should tell those designer parents that this is not at all unusual and is absolutely no indication of genius. True genius is a rare gift that will come out, seemingly, no matter what the circumstances. We are all familiar with the stories of Einstein, who didn’t speak until he was 4; of Aquinas, who was known as the “dumb ox,” and of Beethoven, whose parents were alcoholic and syphilitic.
