North County : College District Board President Reelected
Barbara Hammerman has been reelected president of the Board of Trustees of North Orange County Community College District, which governs Fullerton College and Cypress College.
Hammerman has been president since last September, when the seven-member board elected her after board member Chris Loumakis resigned.
Hammerman, of Yorba Linda, has been on the governing board since 1983. She also has served as the board’s liaison to the state community college board of governors and as a representative to the Museum Assn. of North Orange County.
She is executive director of the Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Orange County and owner of a public-affairs consulting company.
The newly elected vice president of the college district’s board is Otto Lacayo of Cypress, a computer consultant who was a Cypress city councilman from 1970 to 1986.
The new secretary of the board is Barry Wishart of Anaheim, an attorney with offices in Brea.
