Living in Motels and Garages
While television may excite us with its pictures, Leslie Powell (“Still Moving Means Still Alive,” Op-Ed, Nov. 23) proves the written word can still evoke the most powerful images.
I have read and viewed many news stories from the local newspapers to the network news on the subject of today’s poor and homeless. Some depicted people suffering far greater deprivation than those Powell profiled. None came close to bringing home the full force of their plight as did this article.
