Brody Arts Fund Award Recipients

Grants and fellowships totaling $100,000 were awarded this month to 21 nonprofit arts organizations and 19 individual artists in Los Angeles County by the Brody Arts Fund of the California Community Foundation.

Among this year’s winners are the American Indian Registry for the Performing Arts, the Gay and Lesbian Media Coalition, the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra and the L.A. Poverty Department--a performance troupe based in Los Angeles’ Skid Row.

Individual fellowships were awarded to literary and media artists this year, including poet Manuel “Manazar” Gamboa, playwright Wakako Yamauchi and film maker Alexis Krasilovsky.
