Local News in Brief : Metro Rail Contract Let
The board of directors of the Southern California Rapid Transit District awarded a $42-million contract Thursday to a Watsonville, Calif., firm to build the agency’s first downtown Metro Rail station. Granite Construction Co. will begin construction right away on the station to be located at 7th and Flower streets, an RTD spokesman said. The funds include grants from the federal Urban Mass Transit Administration, state Proposition A money and local and private subsidies
