Tragedy in the Skies--Crash of Flight 1771 Kills 43 People
Another 42 innocent people fall victim to a murderer with a handgun and Melvin Belli files suit against the City of Los Angeles and PSA (Part I, Dec. 9). I think he has the wrong defendants.
I believe it is time somebody sued the NRA as it is more to blame than anyone in my opinion. David Burke borrowed a handgun from a friend who appeared to be “safe” gun owner--just the sort of person the NRA says should be allowed to own a gun.
The only way we are going to stop the escalating number of innocent deaths caused by handguns is to ban them. There is obviously no way of predicting who will misuse fire arms.
If the NRA had not lobbied our elected government for all these years, I am sure this country would be a much safer and more civilized place to live in.
On the other hand, if it really is the wish of the majority of people in this country that anyone should be allowed to carry firearms, then we have to expect that innocent people will continue to die.
