The winds of fate blew away Fashion Island’s plans this year to have one of the tallest Christmas trees in the land. But a six-foot white fir came to the rescue.
Stiff gusts knocked off the top of the 110-foot white fir Christmas tree at Newport Center almost two weeks ago. Not to worry.
A six-foot fir was drilled and strapped to the splintered tree-top to give the original tree a nice, tapered top.
Fashion Island once again has the tallest Christmas tree on the West Coast.
