Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Jail Inmate Found Stabbed in His Cell
A County Jail inmate was in stable condition Monday after he was found in his cell with stab wounds in his chest, officials said.
Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Rivas said Michael Allen Brooks, 37, was stabbed between seven and nine times shortly before he was to leave his cell for breakfast. Rivas said that no motive for the stabbing has been determined and that “no one is talking.”
Brooks, who was serving a three-month sentence for failing to appear in court, was taken to UCI Medical Center.
