A Fresno city official wants to tear down handbills advertising a free Christmas Eve meal for the needy because the flyers are illegally posted on city property. But the mayor vowed to stop what he called a “bah, humbug” edict. Rock Fellowship Church has plastered up to 400 posters advertising the meal on city traffic signal posts, circuit cabinets and the walls of some businesses. The church faces a $50 fine if the posters aren’t removed, said Reggie Pena of the city’s General Services Department. Mayor Dale Doig said he will ask the city staff to waive enforcement of the ordinance.
