French actor and singer Yves Montand said Wednesday he had demanded--and received--$145,000 for an appearance on a French TV program in which he denied he would run for president. Other political leaders and personalities who appear on France’s top political interview program, “Questions at Home,” are not paid, but Montand was unrepentant when criticized for asking for a fee: “I’ve got nothing to blush about. My agent did his job properly. I should have encouraged him to ask double the sum, maybe three times more.”
