Share

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a program to open California National Guard armories during cold weather if homeless shelters become overcrowded. Under the contingency plan, the county can ask state officials to open the armories when the temperature dips to 40 degrees or lower. The county also can ask that the armories be opened to accommodate the homeless from local cities.
