Search Resumes for Plane Lost Near Hawaii
An intensive air search resumed Saturday for eight people aboard a small plane that vanished earlier this week.
Two Civil Air Patrol planes joined a Coast Guard C-130 airplane and a H-65 Dolphin helicopter in the effort to find a trace of the pilot and seven passengers aboard the Panorama Air Piper Chieftain. The small craft left Honolulu about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday bound for the island of Molokai, but never arrived.
“We’ve found a lot of debris but none of it came from the plane,” a Coast Guard spokesman said. “A lot of people are baffled about the way they just disappeared off the radar.”
Panorama President Paul Risher identified five of the passengers as Adrianne Kramer, David Crohn and his son, Michael Crohn, all from Sherman Oaks, and Kramer’s ex-husband, Land Kramer, and Patricia Parker, both of Hartford, Conn.
Risher withheld the names of two passengers from Italy pending notification of their families.
The pilot was identified as Steve Baayoun of Pearl City, Hawaii.
