Westwood : Professor Named to Chair
Richard G. Hovannisian has been appointed to the Armenian Educational Foundation Chair in Modern Armenian History at UCLA.
The chair, funded by an endowment of $500,000, honors outstanding contributors to the study of modern Armenian history, said Dro Amirian, steering committee chairman of the Armenian Educational Foundation.
Hovannisian is internationally recognized for his studies on Armenian history during and immediately after World War I. In addition to 30 scholarly articles, he has written three books on the Armenian republic and the Armenian holocaust.
