A 26-year-old man was arrested at his home in San Bernardino County on Wednesday on suspicion of murder in connection with the stabbing death last May of Jami J. Vitteli, authorities said.

Denny Denver Figg, a self-employed construction worker, was arrested in Bloomington after a seven-month investigation by Huntington Beach police homicide detectives, Lt. Ed McErlain said.

McErlain declined to comment on what led detectives to Figg, the nature of any relationship he might have had with Vitteli or if police had any other suspects in the case.

Vitteli was found dead May 29 on the floor of her apartment in the 600 block of Orange Avenue in Huntington Beach. Her throat had been slit, according to the neighbor who found her. No weapon was found at the scene.

Vitteli, who was unemployed, frequented the Huntington Beach Pier and was a regular patron at the Sugar Shack restaurant and Perqs bar, police said.

Figg is being held at the Huntington Beach Jail with his bail set at $250,000, police said.
