As the college football season winds down this weekend, pro football’s postseason play will be warming up.

College football’s two final bowl games will be starting at the same time today. At 10 a.m., viewers will have a choice between the Hall of Fame Bowl, in which Alabama meets Michigan on NBC (4)(36)(39), or the Peach Bowl, matching Indiana against Tennessee on Channels 11 and 51.

On Sunday, National Football League fans will find two wild-card playoffs. The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints will play in the NFC game starting at 9:30 a.m. (2)(8). The AFC contest between the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Oilers will follow at 1 p.m. (4)(36)(39).

As an alternative to football today, ABC has the season premieres of the Professional Bowlers Tour and “Wide World of Sports.”

Bowling bows first as the $125,000 ARC Alameda Open, reported by Chris Schenkel and Nelson Burton Jr., is televised at 2 p.m. (10) and 3 p.m. (7)(3)(42).

“Wide World of Sports,” which customarily opens its season with the Harlem Globetrotters, repeats that tradition as the anthology series launches its 28th year. The program, airing at 3:30 p.m. (10) and 4:30 p.m. (7)(3)(42), also will preview the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

In hockey, the Kings will skate against the Montreal Canadiens tonight at 7:30 on Prime Ticket cable and SelecTV.
