Two young women who got stuck in snow on the way home from a skiing trip in Colorado were found alive in the eastern Arizona wilderness after they spent 10 days inside their vehicle with only a bag of peanuts, a sweet roll and melted snow to eat and no source of heat, officials and family members said. Jami Goldman, 19, of Tempe, and Lisa Barzano, 18, of Paradise Valley, were admitted to White Mountains Communities Hospital for treatment of severely frostbitten feet, a hospital spokeswoman said. The women were found about 25 miles southwest of Springerville, Ariz., by a snowmobiler who spotted their red Chevrolet Blazer and went to investigate, said Apache County sheriff’s Sgt. Edwin Plum. The vehicle had been almost buried in snow from an intense storm that hit the Rockies during the week of Christmas.
