Singapore Arrests 4 Thais in Opium Case

SINGAPORE —
Four Thais were charged in a Singapore court Saturday with smuggling 220 pounds of opium seized by police from a fishing boat.
No plea was taken and the accused were remanded in police custody for investigation. Central Narcotics Bureau officials said three were arrested on the boat and the fourth was picked up outside a hotel.
