Czech-born tennis star Hana Mandlikova, who became an Australian citizen Friday, will still play for Czechoslovakia in the Olympic Games at Seoul, South Korea, her father said Saturday in Prague.

Mandlikova had said that her 10-year career representing Czechoslovakia was over and that she wanted “to win a gold medal for Australia.”

Her father, Vilem Mandlik, told the Associated Press in a telephone interview, however, that his daughter had signed an agreement with the head of Czechoslovakian sports, Antonin Himl, to play for the country at Seoul.

“She is sure to play in the Olympics for Czechoslovakia. . . . What will come afterwards is another matter,” Mandlik said.
