Karel Srp, leader of the Jazz Section--Czechoslovakia’s outlawed independent cultural group--was released from a Prague jail Friday, and told a press conference Saturday he hopes his group will continue to be active. Srp was released after serving a 16-month sentence for defying a ban on his organization. He and four other leading members of the Jazz Section were arrested in September, 1986 and sentenced last March in a trial that drew protests from Western human rights groups and musicians.
