The first major retrospective exhibition of the work of Edgar Degas has been jointly organized by the Reunion des Musees Nationaux in Paris, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The exhibition will touch on every medium and style Degas utilized during his career, including paintings, pastels, drawings, monotypes, prints, photographs and sculpture. The exhibition will open at the Grand Palais in Paris on Feb. 9 and run through May 16. The 400-work collection then moves to the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa June 16-Aug. 28, finally showing in the United States at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Sept. 27, 1988-Jan. 8, 1989.
