Share

A low-pressure system moved across Southern California Tuesday, bringing light rainfall to Los Angeles and outlying communities and heavier precipitation to Santa Barbara County.

The rainfall was expected to end overnight with mostly sunny skies predicted for much of Southern California today and Thursday, according to meteorologists.

“This was a very typical January weather system,” said Mike Smith of WeatherData, which provides forecasts for The Times. “We had moisture coming over from the tropics and that reacted with a low-pressure system moving across Southern California.”
