Local News in Brief : Countywide : Democrats Will Hold Hearings on Platform
A series of hearings will be held Saturday and Sunday and Jan. 16 by the Democratic Party of Orange County in preparation for a convention Jan. 29-20 at the Anaheim Hilton.
The purpose of the hearings is to receive ideas on the 1988 county Democratic Party platform. Topics will include criminal justice, the economy, foreign policy, campaign ethics, the environment, education and health.
Hearings will be held in Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange and Santa Ana. For more information about locations and times, call (714) 835-5158.
Speakers at the hearings will include Lt. Gov. Leo T. McCarthy, Atty. Gen. John K. Van de Kamp, state Controller Gray Davis, state school Supt. Bill Honig and Assembly Speaker Willie Brown (D-San Francisco). The hearings are open to any registered Democrat residing in Orange County.
