American, Briton Killed in French Avalanche

CHAMONIX, France —
An avalanche killed two skiers--one American and one Briton--who were making an off-trail cross-country excursion on Mt. Blanc, police said Thursday.
They were identified as Barry Gaynes, 33, of White Plains, N.Y., and Finn Randall, 24, of Lancaster, England.
