Attendance at Walt Disney theme parks rose 9% in 1987, according to the company’s newly issued annual report to shareholders. Attendance at the Disneyland park in Anaheim increased 7% for the year ended Sept. 30, 1987, while attendance at the company’s Florida parks rose nearly 11%, the Burbank-based company said. More than 50 million people visited the company’s parks, up 4 million visitors from the previous year, a company spokesman said. In 1986, the company reported a total attendance gain of 8% above the previous year.
