Local News in Brief : Arkansas Man Killed in Studio City Accident
Los Angeles police on Sunday identified the victim of a fatal traffic accident that occurred the day before in Studio City as John Scott Zengeler, 23, a visitor from Arkansas.
Zengeler was crushed to death Saturday when the car in which he was riding hit a cement light pole and tipped over on him on Ventura Boulevard near Laurel Terrace Drive, Lt. Al Kerstein said.
Sgt. Jeff Martin identified the driver of the car as Jeff Dineen. He said Dineen, who fled the scene, had been drinking.
Police later arrested Dineen in Orange County, where he was staying. He was being held without bail in Van Nuys Jail Sunday on suspicion of murder.
