Local News in Brief : Countywide : Vasquez and Roth Appointed to Lafco
Harriett M. Wieder, chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, has appointed Supervisors Gaddi H. Vasquez and Don R. Roth to the Local Agency Formation Commission.
Vasquez was reappointed after serving on the commission for part of last year. Roth, who served on the commission while he was a councilman from Anaheim, was appointed for the first time in his capacity as a supervisor.
Lafco includes two supervisors, two city representatives and a member of the public. It is responsible for determining the boundaries of new cities, water districts and municipal annexations.
Supervisors Roger R. Stanton and Thomas F. Riley both resigned from their commission posts in the last two months. Wieder did not name an alternate to the commission, leaving that spot vacant.
