BAGHDAD, Iraq — Two Democratic congressmen discussed the Iran-Iraq War on Tuesday with Foreign Minister Tarik Aziz and other Iraqi officials, a U.S. Embassy official said.
Rep. Robert G. Torricelli of New Jersey and California Rep. Mel Levine of Santa Monica, both members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, will also visit Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Torricelli said in Washington last week that he and Levine will review navy escorts in the Persian Gulf for 11 Kuwaiti tankers that are flying the American flag to gain protection from Iranian attacks.
