Monrovia : $10,000 for Drug Program

Share

A school drug education program will be funded with some of the money the city received from the federal government for its part in helping the U. S. Customs Service in a drug investigation.

Monrovia, which got $77,862 for provided assistance in the investigation from January, 1984, to March, 1986, has earmarked $10,000 toward the school program.

By law, the money must be used to supplement existing drug enforcement and drug education programs. The Monrovia Educational Foundation is raising the rest of the $25,000 needed for the school drug program. The city has not decided what to do with the rest of the funds it received from the federal government.
