A Spring Valley motorcyclist was run over early Friday after he crashed into the back of a gasoline tanker while changing lanes on his motorcycle on southbound Interstate 805, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Charles Lyle Barton, 36, of 3153 Chelsea Park Circle, was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died about an hour after the midnight crash.
Barton was riding south on Interstate 805 near Adams Avenue when he hit the left rear of a gas tanker while trying to change lanes, the spokesman said. The impact threw Barton from the motorcycle. As he attempted to get up, several cars dodged him, but he was hit by another and dragged about 65 feet.
