Academy League Roundup : Newport Christian Wins, 57-50

Wayne Everett scored 21 points and Jon Bahnsen 20 to lead Newport Christian High School to a 57-50 Academy League victory over Avalon Friday night at Newport Christian.

David Castellanos scored 18 points for Avalon.

Newport Christian is 4-8 overall and 2-4 in league.

Cal Lutheran 67, Liberty Christian 50--Curt Sacks scored 24 points and Brian Weaver 16 to lead Cal Lutheran. Tim Crouch had 13 points and Steve Chappell 11 for Liberty Christian ((6-6, 2-5).

Liberty Christian 47, California Lutheran 23--Liberty Christian jumped to a 15-4 first-quarter lead. Lisa Whitney led Liberty Christian with 12 points and 20 rebounds. Liberty Christian is 11-1, 7-0. California Lutheran is 3-4, 1-3.
