Fullerton Women Defeat Hawaii, 70-63

Wendy Anae scored 17 points and Amy Torczon scored 16 to lead the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team to a 70-63 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over the University of Hawaii Monday night in Titan Gym.

Hawaii (10-7, 4-4) held a 32-19 lead with 3:19 remaining in the half, but the Titans forced two backcourt turnovers that helped them close within nine (36-32) at halftime. Fullerton (10-5, 5-1) rallied early in the second half and took the lead for good, 42-41, when Torczon hit two free throws.

In a women’s nonconference game:

Colorado College 83, Pacific Christian College 29--Pacific Christian was outscored, 47-13, in the first half in the loss at Colorado Springs. Chris Dodson scored 15 points for Pacific Christian (1-10).

In a men’s nonconference game:

Colorado College 71, Pacific Christian College 67 (OT)--Steve Welsh (24 points and 16 rebounds) and Brian Kaiser (13 points) led Pacific Christian (17-4) at Colorado Springs.
