The Balboa Theatre’s stage may be closed, but its street-level picture windows along 4th Avenue are open for the arts. The Center City Development Corp., which controls the theater, and recently refurbished its exterior, is using the windows to portray various aspects of the arts.

A display by downtown theaters has given way to a temporary art exhibition. Curated by Natalie Bush, the seven-window exhibit features installations using sculpture, paint, wood, steel and cones. The artists are Laura Crouch, Larry Dumlao, David Engbritson, Lynda Ross and Roberto Salas. The exhibit will be up through March 13.
