Pasadena : Parking Officers to Be Hired
The Board of Directors has approved hiring six parking enforcement officers, doubling the city’s current force.
The new officers will begin writing parking tickets Feb. 1, concentrating on rush-hour violators along major thoroughfares such as Arroyo Parkway, Los Robles, Marengo and El Molino avenues and California Boulevard.
The cost of hiring the six officers and a clerk to process the citations will be $359,427 for one year. The city also expects to spend $55,000 for new parking enforcement scooters. The additional officers are expected to bring in enough revenue from citations to pay for expanding the operation.
